This was such a fun creepy and amazing play! I loved the mechanics, the story, the background for each doll it was so good! And yeah the scares got me each time! Great job!

Thank you so much!! I'll be sure to check the vid out in its entirety! Thank you for the kind words <3

(+1)

You're so welcome and of course! It was such a delight to play and I hope you enjoy the gameplay!

Well! Bro, this game is amazing! The storyline is well written, and you can find the terrifying truth hidden in the toy doll! What kind of toy doll did everyone have when they were young? I threw it on the bed and slept peacefully hahaha. I did a good job. I like this game. Please continue to develop more works!😁

Thank you!! I always appreciate such kind words <3! I had a tiger plushie when I was young, but my cousins and siblings had dolls that I was indeed scared off xP

Came back to finish this after the bug update, and holy shit this game is amazing! I did not see the ending at all (I unlocked the True Ending).  Amazing story and awesome gameplay.  I was engaged throughout.  My only criticism is that I do kinda wish that some safe dolls were thrown in here and there in the late game, kinda removed the mystery of whether a doll was or wasn't cursed.  My favorites in the early game were dolls that sounded haunted, but a non-supernatural tragedy explaining the events were even more haunting.  If you do want to turn all dolls cursed then it makes those with low stakes late-game (like mr. bun bun) seem underwhelming and meh.  Regardless, fantastic game and I cannot wait for more stuff from you!

That is certainly a valid point, Mr. Bunbun was thrown in the middle of some more intense dolls, while being pretty silly by his lonesome. And while I have a good reason for that lore wise, gameplay wise it does make it pretty linear. I believe that this will not be an issue in the endless mode, once that will be out, as that will have two modes, in one mode, it will be completely random as to what doll you get after another, so you'll very likely won't expect the result, however, the thing you pointed out, given that you have aperently read the results (Wich I also want to thank you for :P), the truth about the dolls in their story is hard to do in a random algorithm, but we will try our hardest anyhow! Thank you so much for your valid criticism and an overall severely positive review! Melts my heart every gosh darn time! And congratulations for reaching the True ending!

Just finished watching a walkthrough of this (@petangames) and wow, just felt right to buy it :) this is amazing, I'm really digging the idea. keep up the great work!!

Thank you! Petangames made an awesome vid about it, and in a unknown side, he actually wrote an email to a friend of mine (Pablo, the tester), regarding the game, he gave us valid criticism, that we have applied on the very next update and he offered himself as a voice actor for an upcoming title! Thank you again for such kind words <3

"I was trying to collect all the endings, but I accidentally threw the flashlight and lost it. Olga needs the flashlight to defeat the enemy. I ran everywhere looking for it. Is there a way to reset the item?

Yep! The Computer (Terminal) has both highlighting items AND reseting their location!

(+1)

I dedicated four hours to unlock all the endings—this game is truly exceptional! Have you considered releasing it on Steam? This would allow so many more players to discover such an outstanding game. Also, if possible, would it be feasible to add more language options, such as Chinese?

Wow, that is quite the dedication! Thank you! When it comes to steam, we DO think of a free steam release, but that is when this game will get a big update, that will most notably add the endless mode! When it comes to different localization for the game other then english and czech, it is quite difficult, as those are the only two languages I know fluently, any other will have to be artificially translated and I just don't think that the AI or Google Translated result would be as fluent, or heck, maybe they'd even change the context, wich as a writer is very important to me. It is not really that DIFFICULT to add the language google translated, so I might do that, with the reminder that it might have errors in the sentence structure, so hey, I will look into it! Until then though, we are working on new titles, that will hopefuly be out soon! Thank you again for playing and congratz for getting all 4 endings!

(+1)

Not sure why this game isn't higher on the popular list - this is an excellent horror experience. Very well made!

I have a feeling we're going to be seeing a lot of popularity for this game once knowledge of its existence spreads a bit more.

(+1)

It has dropped greatly recently, but I never expected it to go as high as ot did anyway :P, I think that it dropped when I released a bugged version for 10 hours, so that is on me. Anyhow, thank you so much for your lovely words <3, I do hope that the game has not reached it's peak yet, but guess only time will tell! Till then, this game is certainly not our last, and we will do whatever we can to bring quality to the table with our titles for you fellow gamers who deserve it so much for being such great people!

(+1)

😊👍

Thank you! I have seen your vid before, I always appreciate people making Letsplays on the game!

(+1)

That was scary!

Thanks a lot

Thank YOU! I'm glad that you found the experience scary, hope it wasn't TOO scary :P

(+1)

I streamed this game for my sister and her husband and we all got super hooked! I love the retro atmosphere! The jumpscares were tasteful and the tension was progressive and impactful! We also fell in love with many of the dolls! #TinaDidNothingWrong

That is very lovely to hear! It's so nice to see so many people actually resonating with some of the dolls! When it comes to Tina, it is very interesting to see so many people have their different opinions on such dark, but unfortunately real matters, but I have to say personally, I have to agree, go Tina!

(+1)

Awesome game, I am gonna revisit this today after seeing you fixed the  issue :) its a unique experience i dig :)

[I got lost in the dark when i played it last time xD]

Thank you so much!! You can turn on your flashlight and place it in a convenient spot to on the ground to make a makeshift spotlight, this will certainly help you work in the environment and it will be visible, if the power goes out! Additionally, if you are playing on the lowest graphical setting, try setting it at least one level higher, as the lowest settings disabled light bouncing, making everything rather dark! But thank you once again!

(+1)

This is the most perfect and best game I have ever played. The author has really worked hard. I hope the author continues to update it. I will support this game, and I hope there will be a Chinese version.

Thank you so much for the kind words! I would love to add more localazation in the game, but I (The dev) really only know two, English and Czech. I'd have to Google translate any other language, wich doesn't feel ideal. I might look into it at some point, and have someone rate the Google translators work on longer sentences in dialogues and the UI, but until then, Burning Eye titles will be primarily in English and very possibly czech. Thank you once again for such kind words <3

Wow, thank you so much, I don't know what to say, your comment has almost brought me to tears. Guys, I messed up. 1.2.7.1 had a game breaking bug that was present through out the whole game. I made the update at midnight and went to bed, only to find out about the bug in the morning the next day. 208 people downloaded this version, and I would like to apologise greatly for this. It is my own fault for missing such an obvious bug, it's tearing me inside so badly.. I am so sorry. On the other hand, the people who encoutered this bug, still supported the game. People found a way to get around the bug, wich is amazing and thank you for the rising support for this game! Outside of making a big update for this game (adding the endless mode), We mainly plan to make completly new titles, some are coming really soon! So again, thank you so much, it means absolutely everything to me. You guys are legends!

(+1)

Only huge bug was that I could pick up multiple items at a time, making it so that when I picked up an item while already having one, it would softlock thew game until I reset it and had to be careful to only pick up one item at a time. Otherwise I loved the game and loved the stories.

Oh my god.... I messed up bad... I will fix this at once!

(+1)

Fixed. But holy crap, this made me wanna throw up. The game is doing so unexpectedly well, and I mess up BIG TIME. I just hope that the 200+ people who downloaded the 1.2.7.1 not fixed version understood that it was a bug and just waited for a fix to happen a day later :(

(+1)

hey uh the game is really cool but its super buggy

(1 edit) (+1)

I'm sorry to hear that your experience was not ideal. May you please share some of the bugs you encountered? One of the most noticeable bugs was fixed in 1.2.7, which was released today. Can you please share the bugs you experienced and also tell me the version that they happened on, so that I can fix them?

so when i first start, the doll lets me go through the checks until the camera, i click the camera and i cant grade the doll on what happens, its unplayable. also, you can collect the doll and the grading paper at the same time which also breaks the game.

Ah, yes, the second bug has been fixed, that has been a real gut-punch and I am very sorry for the ruined experience, however, the picture test not letting you mark a result is pretty strange. Here's a step by step guide on how to do the photo test:

  1. Put the doll on the chair, in front if the camera (If playing on low graphical settings, the space is really dark. So use the flashlight as a spotlight for the chair)
  2. Interact with the camera with "e". If the camera beeps and flashes, the photo has been taken, compare the developed photo with reality (it takes about 2 seconds for the picture to appear)
  3. Grab the test sheet and mark your result, based on the photograph.

If it does not let you mark the photograph test after step 2, then I have no idea what is causing that, as it did not happen during testing, or to any other person (that I know of). Still, I will be sure to look into it.

Very good game bro, jumpscare is 100/100.. sorry if my English is not good :D and thank you for coming to my stream

Thank you so much! I loved watching it, so thank you!! <3

(+2)

Hi! While streaming this game, many of the dolls ended up being huge, while the tutorial doll was mini. I'm sure this is a bug, so I thought I'd let you know! Luckily, it was still playable as long as I could find the doll's hitbox.

(1 edit) (+1)

Hello! Yes, I have seen this bug happen in one video on youtube. It seems to happen when you play on 30 FPS limit and low graphics for some reason :D I will look into it and attempt to fix it in the next patch! Thank you for notifying me about it!

(+1)

Update!

The patch 1.2.7 has fixed the issue! Thank you again for the notification, it helped a ton! Have a wonderful day!

(+1)

Of course! Ill try it later today, thank you so much! :D

Ha! I like your commentary and reactions! And thank you for the video, you earned a new subscriber!

Thanks

(+2)

The game is very good
I liked to tested dolls.

I've a suggestion for you, can you add a drop item key? i can't drop a item if i not take another one

(1 edit)

Thank you so much! <3

That is already a part of the game, it is the "G" button! (There are "Controls" in the menu, in case there may be some other inputs, you may be unaware of)

(+1)

HI!!!! COOL GAME AWER!!!!!!!!!!

Thank you so much for playing and for your kind words!!! <3

Thank you for this game!!!!!!!!!!!

adult man playing with dolls watch it here

Thank you so much for the let's play! It's always really appreciated! <3 You have a great commentary and a fricking amazing voice btw, like damn! Also, congratulations for reaching all 4 endings, even though you played the earliest version which doesn't give you nearly enough direction to find the other endings!

Thank you again!

(+1)

After I took the photo of Tina my camera got stuck and I wasn't able to move or do anything

(1 edit)

I am very sorry to hear. I'll be sure to check the bug out. May I ask if you had the dialogue happen, or did it get stuck right after the picture was taken? Also, did the bug persist after restarting the game? It's a bug no one has mentioned before.

Again, sorry for the inconvenience but thank you for reporting it. Additional details would be greatly appreciated.

(2 edits) (+1)

UPDATE!

Never mind, I believe I've found the exact problem. It's a specific dialogue option in Tina's dialogue tree. If you pick 'I'm sorry, I have to.', it freezes the camera. Fixing it now! Thank you so much for this.

UPDATE-UPDATE!

1.2.4 Update fixed the bug. Thank you again!

Thank you

This was such a great game! I am a little confused on how to enable endless mode, however. Please help, I would love to play more ;-;

Thank you!! I am glad you enjoyed it so much! The endless mode is not present in the game yet. Once it will, it will be unlocked after you finish any ending in the normal mode. However, the endless mode is very hard to program. As the ideas work on randomized generation, it's difficult to make sure that all dolls will still be fun, creepy, unique and make sense in their story.

I am however working on other full games. One of which is much longer than Play Things (Currently sitting at 4-5 hours of play time to reach 1 ending). And the other is around the same length as Play Things. I will not release any more information just yet, but I might realase a demo for the first mentioned game soon.

This of course also means, that Play Things content updates (that are not just patch notes), including the Endless Mode update are on hiatus.

(+1)

Completely fair! Wish you the best luck with the programming, I'm excited to see the other games you'll release. :D

Thank you so much! <3 I'll be sure to put a lot of effort into my upcoming projects!

(+1)

French Player Here I have an advice for people who haven't played the game but looking at the comment section :

Jouer Au Jeu / Play The Game

I Really Like How the different Themes were used and how the difficult one were approched

The general ambiance with some good voice acting

Also Like the different choice and the reflexion resulting of the reading of description of each doll and the after report.

Also Like the variety of situation, never got bored during my 2 hours of gameplay.

Thank you for your kind words and for uploading a video of our game! It's always appreciated! <3

(+2)

Gave it a Let's Play, got all the endings, though the environment could be considered 'rough around the edges', the story, writing, even the voice acting I found were great and immersive. The Dolls backstory and figuring if they are Good/neutral/bad as variables also added to this games depth more than I was originally expecting. Great stuff!

Thank you so much for playing! I am honored that you liked our story and voice acting! That means a lot! <3 I will also take your criticism of the enviroment and make sure to make it better in the next patch. I do very much agree that it is a bit bare-bones and simple. But again, thank you for the kind words, imma go ahead and watch the whole vid! Oh, and Congratz on getting all 4 endings!

(1 edit) (+1)

how did you do make this game amınakoym

çok iyi la

(2 edits)

Thank you for your comment, also if you ment that you messed up the Olga doll, you may want to read her document, it will give you a strong hint as to what to do with her.

The game was made in Unreal Engine 5 and thank you for your positive feedback!

(+1)

thank you for such a great gaming experience. About Olga doll, I went to that part of the game without reading the documentation. I searched for other who played the game couldn't find them and spent a lot of time on this part, so I made that comment. But its definitely my mistake, sorry for that comment. I finished the game, it was really a great experience, I will play your other game. I appreciate your interest. I hope you get better. <3

(1 edit)

Thank you, too! I am really glad that you enjoyed this experience. I have to admit that I think that our previous game, Dawn at Laywood, suffers in quality compared to Play Things, epsecially in the Performence. But I still really appreciate you taking an intrest in our work! <3 Also you don't have to apologies for anything! Olga is one of those dolls, that are a bit tougher to crack. So if you skip some parts, that is only natural, if anything, I should just make things more clear. Thank you agian!

(+1)

Please add Portuguese subtitles, I loved the game.

I'd love to add more localization in the game, but that would have to be google translated, which wouldn't be an ideal result. I don't speak any other language fluently other than czech and english, so those are the only two I was able to add, so I unfortunetaly don't think that I'll be able to add localization for any other language :(

But thank you for your kinda comment overall! It means a lot that you have enjoyed the game! <3

(+1)

Ok my friend, but I'm still going to record it for the channel, I thought it was really good from the images.

Thank you, that is really sweet! I'll be sure to check the video out and give it a like (I have already subbed), and feel free to post in in the comments in here!

(1 edit) (+2)

I loved how creepy and atmospheric this game was. The sound design on this was incredible. Definitely pulled you into the game.

(+1)

Thank you so much for playing! I seriously appreciate your kind words! And thank you for recording your playthroug, too! It always warms my heart to see these positive reviews, and overall seeing people enjoying your work. Once again, thank you!

(+3)

It reminded me of Dollmare, but this one has a much more tense atmosphere. Congratulations on the game! I only got one ending, but I'll try to find others.

Here's my gameplay. (PT-BR)

(1 edit) (+1)

Thank you so much for playing! Yeah, even though I have only found out about Dollmare mid-development, and it kinda sucked to know, that a simular concept already exists and that Dollmare has a much bigger budget. But I do believe that the games are different enough to not make it look like a copy.

It's always really cool to see videos of your game, because it gives instant and honest feedback. So thank you so much once again! It really makes my day. And I'm sure that other devs, whose games you've played feel the same way! You're awesome!! <3

(+2)

The tips in the report help us a lot. I went through one where the report helped me not to die.

And maybe decreasing the countdown by a few points will help increase the tension.

Congratulations on the game! I finished the game wanting more!
